2014 Boston Marathon

A public art piece, placed near the finish line, for any spectator to sign
Never met this person, but an imitation of Martin Richard's (6 yr old killed in the 2013 bombings) sign, held way above the crowd, projected at 1 million +!
The crowd at Approximately 10:30 am, the elite runners are still an hour or so from finishing!
2nd2nd and 3rd place race was a photo finish, wheel chair racers are known to reach speeds of 35 mph!  It was closer than it looks, however seen below is first place winner Ernst Van Dyk.  The most decorated Boston Marathon Racer of All-Time, who has won a record 10 Boston Marathons!
Van Dyk accepting his medal.
Rita Jeptoo from Kenya wins a consecutive Boston Marathon.  The neat thing about this shot is her Kenyan flag flying in the background.  Immediately after winning, she went to her family members, the ones holding the flag, and as they tried to wrap it around her she shook her head and said no.  It is only speculation, but my guess is that she knew this year the Boston Marathon was about much more than winning, it meant more than what country won, or who was the best, this year it was simply about running, about carrying on a long lasting tradition!
Actually an accidental shot when I was trying to re-adjust my camera, wasn't until I got home when I realized the poster in the window.
Meb Keflezighi, the first American male to win the Boston since 1983.
Seperated by more than two decades, Meb keflezighi and Greg Meyer hug at the finish line of the 2014 Boston Marathon!  The last two Americans to win the Boston Marathon!
The next 6 pictures resemble everything the Boston Marathon is about!  People coming together to achieve a life long goal!  People coming together to simply FINISH!  By far the best showing of sportsmanship I have ever seen!
And Last but NOT least is my twin sister Megan!  Beating her PB at the Boston!  The reason I was there, and the reason I was able to bring all these moments to you!
